The new Apple iPhone feature to find your mobile anywhere

If you drop it behind a sofa or in a jacket pocket, you can force your iPhone to make a lot of noise - even if it's muted.

They have grown larger in recent years, but the iPhone is still small enough to be misplaced at home.

If you forget your iPhone at the office, the Find My Phone app makes it easy to track devices on the map.

But if your phone is buried under a pile of clothes, or into your kitchen bin, the map is not good.

Fortunately, iCloud lets you "ping" your phone and force it to issue a quick alert - to help you track it.

Or, anyone with other Apple gadgets - like another iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch - can download the "Find My Phone" app.

Once the app is installed, click on the iPhone you are missing and press the "Play Sound" button.

This will force the iPhone to make noise even if it is muted.

If you don't have another Apple device, your next best option is to log in to iCloud.com.

From there, you can access the "Find My iPhone" feature and play the sound on your iPhone.

Using "Find My iPhone" is a very useful feature - even in addition to the iPhone noise system.

You can also use it to find lost devices on the map, which is useful for tracking lost or stolen phones.

You can also wipe your iPhone - or other Apple gadgets remotely - to prevent thieves from hijacking your information or files.
