All set to launch 5G smartphones in 2019

5G is already here, but unless you live in a specific place in a particular technology, you can't get super fast. That is about to change.

Samsung and Verizon (VZ) jointly announced on Monday that the two companies will sell 5G smartphones in the first half of 2019. Although they didn't say which phones will support 5G, Samsung usually launches its latest Galaxy S smartphone in the spring.

The mysterious phone may not be the first 5G smartphone to go public. Verizon and Samsung are uncertain about other companies' plans, saying they will be "the first." But Samsung is by far the world's largest smartphone maker, and its decision to launch a 5G smartphone means that other markets will not fall behind. If smartphone companies want to remain competitive in the next few years, 5G will soon become a must.

This still does not solve the network availability problem. Verizon's 5G network is currently only available in a few cities. AT&T(T) has also established 5G networks in only seven cities. Sprint(S) and T-Mobile (TMUS) are behind. Verizon and AT&T lack specific promotion plans or timeframes, but they plan to bring more cities online in 2019 and 2020. (CNN is owned by AT&T.)

Although 5G may not be a selling point now, it will be enough once it is popularized. 5G promises faster speed than 4G. The debate is much faster (Verizon says "the speed has increased many times"), but the lab tests are 100 times faster than 4G. However, when millions of people are on the network, this tends to slow down some. The industry estimates that in real life, 5G is about 10 times faster than 4G.

This is where the 5G ultra low latency technology really comes in handy. Today's network can send and receive communications between smartphones and the network in just one second. Not many in a moment, but every time you tap the screen, your phone will make dozens of requests. 5G makes network communication time almost zero.

5G is an exciting technology for smartphone users, but it may be more important for broadband users and businesses.

Verizon has sold 5G home Internet services as an alternative to home wired internet connections - it even comes with free YouTube TV as an input. 5G may make companies like Verizon and AT&T become broadband competitors in every city - something they can't do with FiOS and U-Verse.

The low latency of 5G allows autopilot cars to handle all the information they need to make life and death decisions in the blink of an eye. The healthcare industry believes that 5G can help drive the next generation of telemedicine and robotic surgery.

However, before all of this happened, wireless companies had tens of billions of dollars in infrastructure to upgrade.

This is a major commitment, but they have fulfilled their promises before. For example, Verizon also offers the world's first 4G smartphone, the HTC Thunderbolt, which was launched in March 2011. It can only be used in certain areas, because Verizon has built a 4G network and the world is focused. However, other smartphone manufacturers have followed suit, and by the end of 2011, 4G modems have become standard on smartphones.

No, your iPhone 12 or Samsung Galaxy S30 does not need a charger

The leak indicates that both Apple and Samsung are preparing to sell smartphones, such as the rumored iPhone 12 and Samsung Galaxy S30, which have no packaging box or charging cable. Instead, these companies may require you to purchase a separate charger or use existing technology already at home. It turns out that this is split, because any manufacturer will lose a key part of its technology, but I believe this is the right approach. I think that manufacturers have taken more responsibility for the waste generated by ordinary people buying new technologies. Throwing unnecessary accessories into the box is a bigger step in bending electronic waste and exceeds your expectations. . According to trusted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 12 will not be equipped with EarPods headphones (cheap wired headphones that you can get for free), nor will it land in the box later this year. Shortly after the iPhone 12 rumors, another report indicated that Samsung is considering whether to adopt so...
