Motorola
didn't feel shaky. Motorola is in North America at a respectful speed,
where telephone buyers (especially those who bought unlocked phones)
began to realize that the company's reasonably priced but very practical
Android phones. The sixth Moto G was shown earlier this spring and is
now the main attraction of the time: Moto Z3 Play.
Z3 Play has some significant new features, but it is mainly an upgrade that Z2 Play expects last year. For your standard hound, it has a Snapdragon 636 processor, Motorola said it is nearly 30% faster than the Z2's 626, an extra gigabyte of RAM (4 GB in total) and the new Android Oreo (8.1). The battery life should stay around one day, and the file storage is still 32GB, although you can still use the MicroSD card to upgrade.
The design found on the phone is sometimes like reviewing Waldo's book, but there are some obvious differences between Z2 and Z3 Play. Motorola added more microphones, two of which you will notice the face on the bottom of the phone. They will let you talk to Google Assistant and Alexa from a distance and help you cancel noise while on the phone. The back of the phone is also covered with Gorilla glass, although aluminum is still decorated with edges.
It also canceled its pre-fingerprint sensor to support the new positioning on the right side. I haven't got a cell phone yet, but this one is positioned to work well on older Sony Xperia phones that use it.
The reason the fingerprint sensor has to move is simple: Motorola wants more screen space, but does not want to make the phone bigger. The display now stretches 6 inches diagonally, with slightly more pixels than before (2,160 x 1,080). Currently competing phones contain more pixels, but last year's HD AMOLED screen on the Z2 looked very nice and clear. Z3 Play is also a good choice.
In order to appease lovers of their hand-picked fingerprint sensor gestures on Z phones, Moto created an on-screen gestures slider at the bottom of the screen that allows professional users to save some real estate. There is also a fancy feature that allows you to make a partial animation of your photos and save them as .gif files for maximum variability. In the demo we have seen, this feature is not attractive, but we hope it will work better in the real world. In any case, this 12-megapixel rear camera has indeed seen some minor upgrades from last year, and the number of self-timer cameras has also increased from 5 to 8 million pixels. Google Lens also replaced some of the Moto-like image recognition features in camera applications.
There is still no headphone jack on the Z3, but Motorola will have an adapter in the box. It's also not waterproof, just splash-proof, but the Motorola representative assured me that it should be able to handle the accidental toilet drop if this is your main concern.
Motorola did not give up on its Moto Mods. The previous Z-Mobile phone has established its own name for the useful modular magnetic snap fittings that are still supported, and may push harder than ever before to launch new bundles. You can browse Moto Mods here, but to give you an idea, Mods can add zoom cameras, projectors, let you talk to Alexa, and even print pictures. The most helpful of all these are the extra battery packs that increase your battery capacity when you open them.
Moto Z3 Play will start with a $500 price tag and come with the Moto Power Pack Mod. The solution will be unlockable and ready to work at any of the top four wireless carriers in the United States, when it will be shipped later in the summer.
